🦵 AT-HOME LEGS: MESSIE SQUATS - Similar to Lateral Split Squats, this exercise actively stretches and strengthens your inner thighs in addition to targeting your quads and glutes. - Except... - ...you constantly hold the bottom position for the entire set. - This keeps tension on your legs and glutes throughout the entire movement. - Ouch. - “Functionally”, you have the added benefit of strengthening movement and muscles in the side-to-side plane as opposed to a regular squat (front and back). - Moving in a multiple planes is something you do in daily life and/or in your sport, so why not do it in your workout? - Toss these into your leg workout for time (say, one minute) at a slower tempo and these‘ll burn. - 🤺 Exercise Technique: Messie Squats - Start with a wide base with your toes pointed forward and your feet flat on the ground. - You can hold a load in a variety of positions, not limited to holding an object in front of your chest or between your elbows, as demonstrated. - These are NOT required however; feel free to use whatever you have at home. - A water jug, your least favorite kid, or an unexpecting dog should be just fine. - 1. Push your hips back and squat down to one side. 2. Extend your leg to push to your opposite side while staying at the same level. 3. Repeat with side-to-side motions. 4. Home TRICEP workout! Follow @lifewithDaehan for DAILY workout videos! Dips — Make sure you are not engaging your chest by going too forward when you are performing your dips. This is a great tricep workout, one that I highly recommend Tricep extensions using resistance bands — Obviously you are are going to need a resistance bands for is. (Sorry! If you don’t have one) Tie the band around a tall horizontal surface. Make sure it secure, then perform them like regular tricep extensions at the gym. Make sure you are in control and try to be slow as possible. Since we do not have access to weights, we have to work out muscles in different ways. So focus on negatives or performing the reps very slowly and in control. We’re loving these upper body movements from @trainwithjaclyn 😍🤩🤩. Using our purple and red long resistance bands 🙌. Head to her page for more inspo‼️. . . Upper body home workout 💪🏼 . Even with limited equipment we can still get a good workout in, we just need to be smart with what we do. I’d advise to push to failure when possible to ensure you are putting enough stimulus on the muscles. Include pauses reps, slows eccentrics etc to increase the TUT (time under tension) to keep things challenging 👌🏼 .
