Day 147 — Swipe ⬅️⬅️ to see today’s bad and groovy dancing 🕺🏻 brought to you by dance/electronic hit Bad Boy from Yung Bae, an American future funk producer I thought was from South Korea 😹🙈 Turns out his real name is Dallas Cotton! ⠀ ⠀ My husband and I came across the song when I asked Apple’s Siri to play Money Heist on Netflix. Instead it said, playing song by bbno$ - a Canadian rapper featured on the track - and we found a new favourite song for our bad happy dancing 🕺🏻and started bouncing around on the bed at midnight 😹 strangest dance party ever but I’ll take it! 😻⠀ ⠀ Also adding my #may30x30 wildcard no. 2 here! Which do you think it is? ⠀ ⠀ And in the spirit of #gotosummergarb my former co-host @moosoutfits is hosting with @garbandgo, I can see myself wearing this to a puppy play date! 🐶 Cos accidents happen and poop would blend in just fine on these pants 🙈⠀ —⠀ Top: old (4 wears this year) from South Korea like I imagined Yung Bae would be 💔⠀ Bottom: #kammpants (#firstwear2020)⠀ Shoes: #nisoloshoes (22 wears)⠀ Necklace: #windblownjewelry (4 wears)

Day 24 of #May30x30 - Another very casual outfit today. Given the fact that I don’t really leave the house except for appointments and walks, I can’t seem to bring myself to get as dressed up as I did last year, but I’m having fun playing around with accessories to spruce up casual looks 💁🏻‍♀️ Button-up - @everlane 2019 Jeans - old fast fashion 2015 Shoes - Nike 2016 . . . #morewithless #wearrewear #sustainablefashion #slowfashion #intentionalliving #morewithless #shoppingmywardrobe #stylewiththought #buylessbuybetter #byebuychallenge #lovetorewear #stylingnotshoppinf #10x10friends #loveditemslast #30wears #loveyourclothes #wellwornwardrobe #curatedwardrobe #ethicallymyway #fewerbetterthings #morethan30wears

Today’s #iwearitforme2020 prompt is about colors we’re drawn to. And for me, it’s any version of this ochre yellow brown color. I was obsessed with the ochre crayon as a kid, and have always had at least a few things in some version of this color in my closet. The history of ochre as a color is pretty amazing: it’s made from iron oxide and is one of the oldest pigments, found in pretty much all prehistoric art. There’s something compelling about that to me: that my favorite color has been one of humanity’s favorite colors since the beginning. Lucky for me, this color has been having a heyday over the last few years, particularly with basics brands like Everlane using it as a punched up neutral. I got these shorts from Everlane recently in an attempt to use up a chunk of store credit I’ve had for the past year or so. There’s been a lot of backlash against Everlane recently for some dubious union busting moves on their part, and I had been loving their stuff less and less lately anyway from a quality perspective: sizing has been super I consistent for me on my last few purchases and I just hadn’t tried on anything I loved in some time. i think like many people, reading the news about Everlane’s labor issues raised some important questions for me, like what does it even mean to be an ethical brand? For Everlane, the bulk of their schtick has been “radical transparency” on price - interesting and good for the consumer, but that doesn’t necessarily equate to treating their employees fairly. I think for many, Everlane’s accessible price point has made it has been a gateway to making more informed, #consciousbuying choices, but it’s also a big business and showed its true colors when it made decisions to protect its corporate profits over the well being of its employees. Lame. So, what do you look for when you’re trying to support ethical fashion brands? Are there specific labor or environmental policies you think are most important? #ethicalstyle #buylessbuybetter #ethicalclothing #sustainableclothing #ootd #consciousliving

Week 10 of iso and I took some self portraits for the first time 🤪. I've been seeing some new faces around here so wanted to say hi! Some fun facts about me: ⟡ I'm left handed, so are two of my sisters. ⟡ I love matcha (can you tell?). ⟡ I shot b&w film when I was in highschool and learned to develop my own photos. I still love shooting film and don't plan to stop anytime soon. ⟡ I grew up in Vancouver but moved to Toronto couple years ago. I'm soo ready to move back to Vancouver though. ⟡ I care deeply about the environment. In my teens, I once volunteered at the Olympics as part of the "Green Team" and educated people on throwing out their trash in the right bin. ⟡ One of my favourite spots in BC is Tofino, a little surf town on the island. ⟡ Taking self portraits is hard, I think I prefer being behind the camera! ⟡ Travelling > staying in one place for sure. ⟡ I love getting to know the makers behind ethical, local brands. If you made it this far, thanks and see ya around. ✨

Happy Memorial day! This weekend I'm trying to get through the sixth Outlander book ( the paperback copy is 1500 pages 😳). Although I generally prefer reading print books, I've been having to use digital copies borrowed from my library. The copy I've borrowed is due on Wednesday, so let's hope I finish on time! . I'm also making some lemon bars for the first time today - they are in the oven now and smell so good! 🍋🍋🍋 . Shirt: thrifted, $3 (six wears) Skirt: thrifted, $3 (four wears . Wardrobe tracking since Sept. 2019

On being (stuck) at home! Has #stayinghome made you notice or appreciate spaces in your home that otherwise appear mundane?...or perhaps there's an area in your home that you've grown to find inspiring or uplifting over the past couple of months? Bizarrely our staircase certainly grabbed my attention today & hence sharing this image of it from the loft down. We love the contrasting colours & how it spirals beautifully towards the ground. Grateful to have noticed this space in our home! . . . #noticeyoursurroundings #begrateful #homeinterior #simplicity #contrast #renovationproject #staircasebeauty #lessismore #choosejoy #buylessbuybetter
